Conference Shifts Focus To Sports Facilities & Franchises

About 350 people have descended on the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit this week for the '18 AXS Sports Facilities & Franchises and Ticketing Symposium. Those people can be forgiven if they thought their flights had mistakenly landed in Texas instead of Michigan, as many of us deplaned Monday and were slapped in the face by humidity and temperatures in the mid-90s. The weather cooled off Tuesday, though, just as the conference was heating up.

We transition today from the Ticketing Symposium to the Sports Facilities & Franchises conference, and we’ll start with team presidents and C-level execs talking about what’s keeping them up at night, then hear interviews with Palace Sports & Entertainment Vice Chair Arn Tellem, Falcons President & CEO Rich McKay, Ilitch Holdings CEO & President Chris Ilitch, Michigan AD Warde Manuel and Colts co-Owner & Vice Chair Carlie Irsay-Gordon. We’ll round out the day with discussions on venue security and fan experience.
