Super Bowl Ticket Prices Climb Above $5,000 For Worst Seats

Multiple tickets brokers said that they are "having issues filling pre-sold orders" for Super Bowl XLIX due to "tight inventory and 'worst seat available' prices that have pushed as high as $5,700 per ticket." As of yesterday afternoon, the cheapest seats in Univ. of Phoenix Stadium were "going for nearly $5,000 each with taxes and fees included." TiqIQ yesterday said that Super Bowl seats are "selling for an average of 82 percent more than this time last year," when MetLife Stadium hosted Seahawks-Broncos (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 1/28).

Meanwhile, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said that “there have been no specific, credible terrorist threats made to Super Bowl XLIX or to any of its related events” (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 1/29).
