PGA Of America Plans To Bring Marquee Events Back To Valhalla
After a PGA Championship at Valhalla that saw record ticket sales and attendance, the PGA of America "intends to return to the course it owns with some of its marquee events in the future." PGA of America CEO Pete Bevacqua said, "We have every intention to come back here with our championships." PGA of America President Ted Bishop: "There is no question that we'll be back here again with the Senior PGA, another PGA Championship and in all likelihood down the road, another Ryder Cup" (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 8/11).
Meanwhile, the Championship Shops set up at Valhalla today will hold a clearance sale from 8:00am-4:00pm ET, with merchandise marked down 50% "for the one-day sale" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/10).
