Asics World Series Of Beach Volleyball Returns To Long Beach

The Asics World Series of Volleyball today returns to Long Beach, Calif., for the second straight year, with "thousands of fans" expected to attend the six-day event. The FIVB Grand Slam event features 128 players and has "doubled in prize money from last year's inaugural event," tying the $1M at the Gstaad Grand Slam in Switzerland as the "most in beach volleyball history." There will be 10 other volleyball competitions apart from the Grand Slam tourney, including a "collegiate event and youth championships" (OCREGISTER.com, 7/21).
