Chevy Signs On As Official Truck Of NHRA In Multiyear Deal

Chevrolet today will announce that it has signed on to become the official truck of the NHRA, replacing Ford. Financial terms of the deal were not available. The multiyear agreement means Chevrolet's Silverado and Suburban brands will be featured prominently at the track during NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events. They will be used by the NHRA Safety Safari, the safety personnel crew that works at dragways during competition.

GM’s Chevrolet brand last year signed on to title sponsor the U.S. Nationals held each Labor Day weekend near Indianapolis. GM Performance Division Manager Craig Shantz said, “This sponsorship increases our involvement. It’s the right fit. Chevrolet and Chevrolet Performance have a very loyal fanbase involved with the NHRA and drag racing.”
