The Chargers have informed season-ticket holders that “their ticket prices will remain unchanged this year.” Single-game prices will also remain the same as in ’13 (UTSANDIEGO.com, 1/22).

The Daytona Beach City Commission last night “unanimously approved the creation of a special taxing district that would pay for roads, water lines and other costs” for the planned $289M One Daytona project across from Daytona Int’l Speedway (Daytona Beach NEWS-JOURNAL, 1/23).

The Masters Tournament, R&A and USGA formally announced plans for the inaugural Latin America Amateur Championship, to be held Jan. 15-18, 2015, at Pilar Golf Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The format will be "72 holes of stroke play with a field of 120 players" (AUGUSTA CHRONICLE, 1/23).

A Shelby County (Tenn.) Commission committee yesterday voted to “defer for two weeks a necessary vote to finalize” the city of Memphis’ purchase of AutoZone Park. County commissioners “wanted more information from the city” and “a presentation on the proposal” (Memphis COMMERCIAL APPEAL, 1/23).

The ECHL agreed to extend yesterday’s deadline by two weeks for the Las Vegas Wranglers to “find a new place to play next season.” The team’s lease with Orleans Arena expires after this season, and “it was notified in December that it won’t be renewed” (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 1/23).

Expansion USL Pro team Sacramento Republic FC today is expected to “announce affiliation agreements” with two MLS teams: the Earthquakes and the Timbers (SACRAMENTO BEE, 1/23).

The PGA Tour is running a full-page ad in this morning’s USA Today to highlight the Tour recently surpassing $2B in charitable giving since ’38. The ad features images of golfers, including Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods, interacting with fans at charitable events (THE DAILY).
