MLBAM Sets Download Record For At Bat App, Offers Discount

MLBAM has reached 7.1 million downloads of its At Bat mobile application for '13, surpassing last year's full-season total and setting a new company record. MLBAM execs will appear tonight at Apple's SoHo store in N.Y. to discuss the app and help mark the five-year anniversary today of the launch of the Apple App Store. At Bat was one of the original 500 apps in the store. To further mark the anniversary, MLBAM has discounted the premium level of the app today to $4.99, one-fourth the usual $19.99 price. Since the formation of the App Store in '08, At Bat has been downloaded 21 million times, accessed 1.5 billion times and delivered 1.8 billion minutes of live video.
