Laugh Track....No Luck For The Irish

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel: “Last night, while 'The Bachelor' was airing on ABC, ESPN was airing the college football Championship game, clarifying once and for all who wears the pants in every relationship in America. I personally was switching back and forth with a beer in one hand and a glass of chardonnay in the other. The game itself was a blow out. Alabama won, Regis lost. It was a tough loss for the Fighting Irish. If only Irish people had some kind of tradition of drowning their sorrows in something it would have been so much easier” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 1/8).

NBC’s Jay Leno: “According to several reports a lot of people think that 2013 is going to be bad luck because it has the number 13 in it. Do you know what you call these people? Notre Dame fans. Congratulations to Alabama, they beat Notre Dame last night 42 to 14. You've got to admit that Notre Dame looked bad. And not just regular bad, that was Philadelphia Eagles bad. In fact, do you know what BCS stands for? Beating Catholics Soundly. Today the Pope suggested Notre Dame might want to be a Lutheran college. Basically, it was over at halftime. It was like a Laker game. So congratulations to the state of Alabama, they are number one in college football. Forty ninth in everything else. . … Congratulations to Phil Jackson, who is now engaged to long-time girlfriend Jeannie Buss. You know she is the Executive Vice President of the Lakers, so at least someone on the Lakers is getting a ring this year” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 1/8).
