Adam Sandler Makes N.Y. Sports Jokes During Charity Concert

Actor Adam Sandler was among the many celebrities to participate in last night’s 12/12/12 concert to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Sandler spoofed Leonard Cohen’s famous song “Hallelujah” to feature lyrics specific to the regions hit by the storm. One of his verses included several sports references.

“We believe this too shall pass,
Like when Sanchez fumbled into an ass.
And during the playoffs A-Rod telling girls in the crowd,
‘I wanna do ya.’
The Mets have sucked since '86,
Isiah tried to ruin the Knicks.
But now Jason Kidd and the boys can freakin’ school ya.
Hallelujah, Sandy screw ya!” (“12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief,” 12/12).
