Nets Officials Say Barclays Center Will Have Starbucks Coffee Shop

Barclays Center will feature a Starbucks coffee shop at the new arena in Brooklyn, according to Nets officials. Starbucks will be accessible to visitors through a street-level entrance adjacent to the arena’s front door, and it will be open on both event days and non-event days. In addition, as part of a multiyear deal Starbucks signed with the Nets, the brand is the exclusive coffee served inside the arena at concessions stands, in the venue’s restaurant and other premium areas. Elsewhere, Starbucks had a coffee shop inside the Pacers’ Bankers Life Fieldhouse, but that location closed in ‘10.

Starbucks in Brooklyn is part of the Shops at Barclays Center. The arena’s other retail outlets are RocaWear, MetroPCS and Elbow Room, a high-end macaroni and cheese eatery. Barclays Center opens Friday with the first of eight Jay-Z concerts.
