A tribute to late NFL Films President Steve Sabol ran after the first quarter of last night’s “Sunday Night Football” game. A camera with the NFL Films logo was spotted, then lights going out in a stadium followed by the words, “Your light will shine forever on the game you love” (NBC, 9/23).

Shelby County (Tenn.) Commissioners today will discuss replacing Hoops LP, the Grizzlies ownership group led by Michael Heisley, on the FedExForum lease with RJP Group LLC, the team's prospective ownership group headed by Robert Pera (MEMPHIS DAILY NEWS, 9/24).

EPL clubs this week will meet "to discuss the imposition of some radical new cost control measures." The 10 southern-most clubs will meet today, while the rest of the teams will meet on Wednesday (GUARDIAN, 9/21).

Several fans at Sunday's Bengals-Redskins game were injured "when an escalator at FedEx Field malfunctioned shortly before the end of the game." The malfunction "resulted in a pileup of patrons at the landing at the bottom of the escalator." Six fans were taken to area hospitals. A similar event happened last season during a game against the Jets in December (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 9/23).

Gronk Flakes, "a frosted corn flakes cereal" endorsed by Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski, will be available at Stop & Shop supermarkets starting this week. The cereal's first run will be 64,800 boxes at $3.99 each (ESPN.com, 9/22).

MMA promotion Strikeforce today announced that an injury to fighter Gilbert Melendez has forced it "to cancel its entire fight card" scheduled for this upcoming Saturday in Sacramento (NEWSDAY, 9/24).
