No Talks Scheduled In Ongoing Labor Dispute Between NFL, Refs

There have been no discussions between the NFL and NFLRA in their ongoing labor stalemate "for the last four days" and "none are scheduled." NFLRA President Scott Green said that he has "never seen our guys more solid and stronger" (“FNIA,” NBC, 9/5). Meanwhile, the replacement refs generally are receiving positive reviews, as NEWSDAY's Greg Logan writes under the header, "NFL Replacement Officials Do OK In Season Opener."

The referee labor dispute also surfaced as a topic on late-night TV.
