Magic CEO Sends Email To Season-Ticket Holders On Howard Trade

Magic CEO Alex Martins in an email to season-ticket holders late yesterday said that the team did "everything possible to hold on to" C Dwight Howard before trading him to the Lakers. Martins wrote, "At the end of the day, we were not able to receive a commitment from him beyond this season. ... A primary goal for our basketball team is to achieve long-term sustainability while maintaining a long-term vision. We feel this deal puts us in a position to begin building in that direction" (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 8/14).
