Radio Row Still A Go, But Will Be Smaller Than At Other Super Bowls

About 35 stations or podcasts are expected at Radio Row next week in Tampa Convention Center ahead of Super Bowl LV, which NFL VP/Communications Brian McCarthy said is about a third of the usual crowd. Those outlets on hand will fill the available space due to social-distancing protocols, but it will be another illustration of the diminished footprint of the pandemic Super Bowl. That roster exceeds many in the sports-talk industry’s expectations, no doubt driven partly by the Bucs’ participation. Radio row booker and PR man Joe Favorito said it is “mostly the Tampa and Kansas City stations” going, with the former not requiring travel that is still banned by corporate policy in many places. Just because the talkers are coming does not mean the guests are as well. Podcast host Joe Ceraulo, a Radio Row regular in recent years as a student employee of St. Bonaventure’s WSBU-FM, is going to Tampa, though he said he expects upwards of 80% of his guests to be over Zoom.
