Rutgers Athletics Unveils New $65M Academic Success Center

Rutgers unveiled the new 85,000-square-foot Gary and Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center, which AD Pat Hobbs "calls 'the hub' for the Rutgers athletics program," according to Keith Sargeant of the Newark STAR-LEDGER. The $65M facility was "kickstarted by the Rodkin family," who announced their $15M commitment in Feb. '18. It "marked the largest donation in Rutgers athletics history at the time." The three-story building features "training and locker-room facilities for the men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse programs, houses the offices for the school’s athletics administration, and includes academic-support services for all 22 Scarlet Knights teams." Rutgers officials are "quick to showcase the academic component first and foremost." The first two floors "serve as an expansive academic space, complete with computer labs" and study halls (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 1/24).
