DraftKings Will Open Gaming Innovation Studio at UNLV

DraftKings signed a multi-year agreement to sponsor the Center for Gaming Innovation at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The deal will see the opening of the DraftKings Gaming Innovation Studio on-campus at UNLV.

The studio intends to spur innovation in online gaming products, and create a talent pipeline for DraftKings to recruit UNLV students as potential employees. In January, DraftKings opened a 300-person office in Las Vegas. As part of the new deal, DraftKings branding will appear across UNLV’s Stan Fulton Building.

“The creation of the DraftKings Gaming Innovation Studio at UNLV will substantially expand the scope and output of UNLV's gaming innovation program and will provide students the opportunity to collaborate in a professional setting, turning creative ideas into viable casino games,” Daniel Sahl, director of UNLV’s center for gaming innovation, said in a statement.

DraftKings currently does not have approval to operate its sports betting app in Nevada. In September, the University of Colorado partnered with PointsBet to become the first NCAA program sponsored by a sports betting operator.
