New Digital Platform Will Help Facilities Integrate Safety Measures

Engineering consulting firm Thornton Tomasetti, in partnership with Intel, Hewlett Packard and tech advisory company PMY Group, today will announce the release of GoGuide, a digital platform that will help venue operators integrate post-pandemic safety procedures into their existing security systems. Although Thornton Tomasetti is better known in sports for its engineering work -- it recently wrapped up work on Allegiant Stadium and is a contractor at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle -- the new technology was developed by the firm’s protective design and security services division, whose portfolio includes embassies, airports and FBI offices. Everyone in a GoGuide-equipped building will be issued a reusable Bluetooth Low Energy tag which syncs with the club’s ticketing and security technology. The tags can be personalized for anyone, like season ticket holders, staff and visitors with disabilities. It can also be programmed uniquely for each event. No personal information is collected, and the tracking ends when the tag is returned or disabled upon exiting. Notifications are sent via mobile phone to indicate safe appointed arrival time and parking and entry locations for the ticketholder's party. The BLE bracelet will also notify you and the venue's staff if you are breaking the rules. Location tracking also informs wayfinding for concessions, restrooms and gift shops, lounge areas and other destinations, allowing staff to monitor and disperse crowds.
