La Liga Launches International Chain of Sports Bars

Spanish soccer league La Liga will open a chain of sports bars around the world called La Liga TwentyNine’s. The name pays homage to 1929, the year La Liga was founded.

La Liga will build bars on city streets, in shopping malls, airports, hotels, cruise ships, and amusement parks. According to SportsPro Media, 30 bars are planned to open over the next seven years. The first bar is planned to open in Barcelona in 2021. Venues are also planned for North and Central America, Russia and other parts of Europe.

Barceló Hotel Group has acquired exclusive development rights for La Liga bars in the Middle East and North Africa. In addition to food and drinks, some bars will feature spaces for interactive gaming and trivia contests. Bars will show La Liga matches as well as other local and international sporting events.
