Applicaster Raises $11 Million for OTT Streaming App Development

Streaming technology provider Applicaster has raised $11 million in funding. The money will be used to expand the company’s engineering resources.

Applicaster is the developer of Zaap, a platform that lets media companies design their own direct-to-consumer video streaming apps. Clients include FOX, ViacomCBS, DirectTV, sports data firm Stats Perform, the South American soccer’s CONMEBOL and Caribbean TV network SportsMax.

The latest round was led by Israeli-based VC firm Viola Growth, with participation from 3 North, Pitango, Saban Ventures, Planven Investments and La Maison. Applicaster has now received a total of $67 million in investments.
