Terry Bateman Back With Washington NFL In Official Capacity

Washington NFL Owner DANIEL SNYDER has brought longtime advisor TERRY BATEMAN back in house, giving him the title of Exec VP & CMO. Bateman is leading the name change and branding process along with Snyder, and will also oversee all marketing, sponsorship, media and overall business strategy, the team said. Sources say Bateman, who had a stint as CMO from '06-07 and then again as Exec VP & CMO in the mid-'10s, has effectively been acting as the club’s top commercial official since the leadership team led by BRIAN LAFEMINA was fired in December '18. “I am very excited to be joining the organization at such a critical moment in history,” said Bateman. “I want to thank Dan for giving me the opportunity to come back and provide my perspective and expertise while we work to develop a new era for this proud franchise.” Bateman was longtime chair of the Snyder-owned radio group Red Zebra Broadcasting, which disbanded in '18 after it sold its last station. This announcement comes four days after a Washington Post article detailed extensive allegations of sexual harassment against former team execs. Currently, the top business-side execs listed on the team’s website roster are Senior VP/Operations & Guest Experience CHRIS BOYER, Senior VP/Corporate Partnerships SCOTT SHEPHERD and CFO STEPHEN CHOI.
