One Championship MMA Series Turns to Microsoft Technology

Asian mixed martial arts series One Championship has signed a cloud computing partnership with Microsoft. Live fight broadcasts will now include new statistics provided by Microsoft that aim to measure the strength of a fighter’s kick or punch.

One Championship’s streaming service will also leverage Microsoft Azure’s machine learning to provide personalized content recommendations to fans. Additionally, the two plan to collaborate on ways to improve athletic performance, which could include using Microsoft mixed reality HoloLens headset.

“We’re looking forward to working with One to help accelerate its digital transformation for the benefit of millions of sports fans around the world,” Jean-Philippe Courtois, EVP and president of Microsoft global sales, said in a press release.

Singapore-based One Championship will also equip all of its employees with the Microsoft Teams platform to facilitate remote work production amid the ongoing global pandemic. One Championship will also join Microsoft’s Global Sports Innovation Center, a networking group that comprises more than 170 members across 20 countries and aims to drive economic growth in the sports industry.
