Matt Gould Leaves MLBAM To Serve As PR Head At LeagueApps

MATT GOULD has left MLB Advanced Media, where he had been VP/Corporate Communications since '07, and has been hired as Head of Communications & PR at N.Y.-based sports tech company LeagueApps. Gould originally joined MLB in '96. He began his new role on Jan. 2. LeagueApps is focused on building the youth sports industry through its organizational and pro league partnerships, evolving a technology platform reaching 10 million participants, generating more than $1B in transactions annually and expanding its FundPlay service mission to increase participation and experiences in underserved markets by committing 1% of revenue to reach 500,000 kids by '22. The company, run by co-Founder and CEO BRIAN LITVACK and President JEREMY GOLDBERG, originally launched in '11 and was part of the inaugural Dodgers and R/GA Ventures Accelerator program in '15. Its investors include Basketball HOFer DAVID ROBINSON's Admiral Capital Group, MLB, PLL co-Founder PAUL RABIL and retired athletes such as former NBAer SHANE BATTIER, former NFLer DHANI JONES and former Spanish soccer player DAVID VILLA. Gould is based at the company's Union Square HQ.
