New Plans For Thunder Alley At Chesapeake Energy Arena Released

Revised development plans for the proposed Thunder Alley south of the Chesapeake Energy Arena are being "submitted to the Downtown Design Review Committee" after receiving "developer designation by the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority," according to Steve Lackmeyer of the OKLAHOMAN. Designs submitted by Bockus Payne Architecture show a development with "significantly more street presence than the first renderings submitted earlier this year." The development would include a sculpture and plaza, as well as a "digital video board-wrapped building that would be home to a 6,125-square-foot Thunder Alley Grill." Another 10,000-square-foot restaurant would be "built in the middle of the block." The next part of the developed area would be a 42-space parking lot that could "double as public space for a music stage, basketball court and visitor space" (OKLAHOMAN, 12/20).
