Raiders Name Ford Dealerships Founding Partners Of New Stadium

The Raiders have named a group of five Las Vegas-area Ford dealerships as founding partners of Allegiant Stadium, which will allow the car maker to "incorporate the brand into the facility and to operate game day demonstrations," according to Mick Akers of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. The Raiders yesterday also announced Ford as the official vehicle of the team. Gaudin Ford President Gary Ackerman said that Raiders players have "already started to represent the official vehicle of the team." Ford is the "ninth announced founding partner for Allegiant Stadium, with a few more deals expected to be announced before construction finishes July 31" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 11/7). Raiders President Marc Badain said that he eventually "expects 'more than a dozen' stadium founding partners." Ackerman said the 10-year deal between Ford and the Raiders will include "a lot of signage" (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 11/6).

GOOD TO GO: The REVIEW-JOURNAL's Akers notes the Clark County Zoning Commission yesterday "approved the Raiders' request for waivers to development standards for signs planned for Allegiant Stadium." The approval comes after a "pair of delays" that were "caused by a review of the plans by the Federal Aviation Administration." Following its review, the FAA had "no objections regarding three of the 650 signs planned" for the stadium (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 11/7).
