NFL Marketing Notes: Tyreek Hill Deal Helps Baltimore Glove Maker

In Baltimore, Jessica Iannetta noted Maryland-based glove maker Grip Boost partnered with ad agency Unconquered to "identify an athlete and launch a campaign," landing on Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill as an endorser. The campaign "launched on Sept. 7 with the start of the NFL season." playing off "Hill's persona as 'the cheetah.'" Unconquered co-Founder Brian Schneider said that though Hill was "injured in week one and has yet to return, the campaign has still received a good response and has helped to get the Grip Boost name out there" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/10).

WHISTLE WHILE YOU WORK: Chargers RB Melvin Gordon and Lids have released their first full campaign together: "Employee of the Month." The video highlights how Gordon spent his recent contract holdout. Gordon, who just returned to the Chargers last week, joined Lids as a store associate and worked as their first #HAthlete (Lids).

CRUCIAL DEAL: In K.C., Pete Grathoff noted free agent S Eric Berry beat cancer earlier in his career, which is why the NFL is "featuring Berry in a new commercial for its 'Crucial Catch' campaign." The ad "features scenes of Berry as he battled to return from cancer, including some when he had no hair, which was a side effect of the chemotherapy treatments" (K.C. STAR, 10/10).
