Red Wings' Dylan Larkin Promotes Clothing Brand In Comedic Spot

Red Wings C Dylan Larkin is speaking out about an issue that "ails" hockey players across the globe in a "mildly tongue-in-cheek promotional ad posted on Instagram last week," according to Kirkland Crawford of the DETROIT FREE PRESS. Larkin "stares into the camera for his 'heart-wrenching' admission" in which he admits that he has "Hockey Butt." That is "followed by several shots of what appears to be Larkin doing slow squats and showing off his, ahem, good side." In reality, Larkin is "in this ad for the State & Liberty Clothing e-commerce company in Ann Arbor" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 10/8). In Michigan, Matt Durr noted the company "focuses on making dress apparel for athletic men whose body types and shapes don't typically conform to off-the-rack clothing sizes." The commercial has "become a hit for the brand as it has been viewed more than 70,000 times on Twitter alone since being released last week." Over the last four years State & Liberty has "expanded to open stores in eight cities in North America," including Chicago, N.Y. and Toronto. The company also "opened a storefront in Ann Arbor earlier this year" (MLIVE.com, 10/7).
