Muggsy Bogues Becomes Face Of Raptors' Latest GoDaddy Campaign

Former NBAer Muggsy Bogues will be the spokesperson for a Raptors campaign this year with GoDaddy, with Bogues launching a "new Raptors-centric storybook, which will be available for purchase online with all the proceeds going to the MLSE Foundation," according to Laura Armstrong of the TORONTO STAR. The "longstanding partnership" between the Raptors and GoDaddy has been "plagued by the so-called GoDaddy curse in recent years, as players ... have seen their performances dip after becoming the face of varying campaigns." Previous campaigns include former Raptors C Jonas Valanciunas "selling 'Itty Bitty Ballers' figurines" along with former F Patrick Patterson and former C Lucas Nogueira. Another campaign featured Raptors G Norman Powell "trying to peddle a hit single" and former G C.J. Miles "drumming up buyers for a line of pyjamas." Powell, the only player who remains with the organization, "posted a career-low 5.5 points per game and a .401 field-goal percentage the year he was linked to GoDaddy" (TORONTO STAR, 10/8).
