The usual suspects lead the NFL in terms of social media prowess, with the Patriots, Cowboys and Eagles at the top, respectively, according to data from MVPindex measured through Sept. 4. The Patriots, fresh off a Super Bowl win, sit atop the ranking. MVPindex is a social media index and valuation platform for the sports and entertainment industries, offering real-time analytics on more than 90,000 athletes, entertainers, teams, leagues and brands ranked across the most popular social platforms. The index shows the level of engagement an entity has with its fans based on a proprietary algorithm that takes into account the number of followers, posts, interactions and other factors.
