Baker Mayfield Grows Portfolio With Progressive Insurance Deal

Browns QB Baker Mayfield is "entering a marketing partnership with Progressive," according to Nate Ulrich of the AKRON BEACON JOURNAL. Progressive announced that Mayfield, who ranks fourth on THE DAILY's most marketable NFL player list, and his wife Emily will "become the newest stars of its commercials." Progressive will "officially kick off an advertising campaign Sept. 5 featuring the newlywed couple and a playful take on their lives as homeowners in FirstEnergy Stadium." The spots will "run on national television and digital channels" throughout this NFL season (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 8/28). In Cleveland, Kevin Kleps notes the deal features "in-stadium activations" that include an escalator that will "prominently display the Progressive brand." The deal was announced just 20 days after Mayfield was "celebrated as BodyArmor's latest pro athlete partner, investor and spokesperson." In addition to Progressive and BodyArmor, Mayfield has sponsorship deals with Nike, Bose, Panini America, the Nissan Heisman House and Allen Edmonds. Mayfield's marketing agent, Camwood Capital Group's Chris Talbott, said that "two more marketing deals featuring Mayfield will be announced soon" (CRAINSCLEVELAND.com, 8/28).
