PGA Tour Signs DraftKings For First Daily Fantasy Game
The PGA Tour has signed its first daily fantasy sponsorship with DraftKings, making the company the Tour’s first official daily fantasy game. Financial terms of the multiyear deal were not disclosed, but DraftKings will activate with daily fantasy golf contests involving fans having the chance to win cash prizes as well other prizes in the future. Fans also can create six-member fantasy teams. The Tour and DraftKings also will partner on other real-time product enhancements via the PGA Tour's proprietary ShotLink tracking system. The sponsorship begins this week in time for the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. The deal comes after the Tour in February changed its policy to allow official marketing partnerships and title sponsorships with companies in the daily fantasy sports related category.
