Former Bloomberg LP CEO and current Sidewalk Labs CEO DAN DOCTOROFF has resigned from the USOPC board, citing his increased workload in the private sector. He was first appointed in '15 and will be replaced by a new independent director before the end of the year, a spokesperson said. A former top lieutenant to then-Mayor MICHAEL BLOOMBERG, Doctoroff first entered the Olympic business when he oversaw New York’s failed attempts to win the '12 Olympics. USOPC Chair SUSANNE LYONS said “Dan never hesitated to challenge the status quo or ask the tough questions and every decision we made was better for it. Unfortunately, the time and energy currently required of (USOPC) board members as we transform the culture of elite sport in the United States is simply more than Dan can commit to providing considering his many professional endeavors.” Alphabet-owned Sidewalk develops technical products designed to help cities confront urban management challenges with automation and big data.
