Facility Notes

In Phoenix, Rebekah Sanders cites sources as saying that the D-backs have chosen architecture firm HKS to "design a possible replacement for Chase Field as the team decides whether to leave" the 21-year-old downtown Phoenix ballpark or renovate it. HKS has previously designed the team's Spring Training complex, Salt River Fields, which opened in '11, as well as Spring Training venues for the Astros and Nationals and AT&T Stadium and Lucas Oil Stadium for the Cowboys and Colts, respectively (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 6/14).

LOCAL MERGER: First Tennessee Bank is changing its name to "align with its parent company, First Horizon National Corp., a move that will also affect" the Triple-A PCL Nashville Sounds' First Tennessee Park. First Tennessee Bank will become First Horizon Bank and the ballpark "will be renamed with the new brand" (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 6/14).

TEMPORARY HOUSING: Syracuse will "move its box office from the Carrier Dome to the Ensley Center next week to accommodate its renovation of the Carrier Dome." The box office "will be re-located to Ensley starting on Monday and will remain there" until September '20, when the roof renovation is "expected to be completed" (SYRACUSE.com, 6/12).
