In N.Y., Josh Kosman cites sources as saying that since Sinclair Broadcasting Group won the auction to acquire the 21 regional sports networks from Disney, the company has "had a tough time finding a lender to replace" a $1.025B bridge loan previously secured from JPMorgan. Sources said that Sinclair "wants a loan with less onerous terms than the one it has with JPMorgan, but lenders are balking at the company's conditions." One source said that the "main sticking point" is that Sinclair wants any new loan to be 100% "secured by the RSNs, rather than its TV stations" (N.Y. POST, 5/14).

RETURN TO FORM: Tiger Woods has "had an endorsement deal with Golf Digest" since his early days on the PGA Tour, and was "among the magazine's playing editors, contributing instructional pieces in a deal that ended" in January '11. With Discovery purchasing the magazine, Woods will "once again become a big presence on Golf Digest platforms" (AP, 5/13). Sources said that Condé Nast sold Golf Digest to Discovery for $35M (N.Y. TIMES, 5/14).

COLORFUL LANGUAGE: NBC's Mike Emrick has "more than 150 ways to describe a 'pass.'" During one 30-second stretch of Game 2 of the Hurricanes-Bruins Eastern Conference Finals series, Emrick "used 'dished,' 'dropped,' and 'handed off' to describe the action." There also was a "swept over" and a "shoved back." Emrick really "does have hundreds of words and phrases he carries with him from rink to rink and from season to season" (THEATHLETIC.com, 5/13).
