Marlins, President Of Business Ops Chip Bowers Parting Ways

Bowers had previously been CMO of the Warriorsmarlins

The Marlins confirmed Thursday that President of Business Operations CHIP BOWERS is "no longer part of the organization" after 14 months with the team, according to Jordan McPherson of the MIAMI HERALD. Bowers joined the Marlins in February '18 after serving as Warriors CMO. His departure led to some restructuring in the Marlins’ front office -- ADAM JONES will become Marlins Chief Revenue Officer while CAROLINE O'CONNOR will become COO. Jones previously served as Senior VP/Strategy & Development while O'Connor was Senior VP and Chief Of Staff (MIAMI HERALD, 5/3). In Ft. Lauderdale, Wells Dusenbury notes Jones and O’Connor are considered two of Marlins CEO DEREK JETER's "most trusted advisers." Sources said that the decision for Bowers and the Marlins to part ways "was not related to the low attendance at Marlins Park." The Marlins are drawing a league-worst 9,651 people through 18 home games this season. Bowers during his time with the club was the "public face for the Marlins’ business team, speaking frequently to the media as the team unveiled a number of new ideas" (South Florida SUN SENTINEL, 5/3).
