Adnan Virk Joining DAZN As Host Of New Baseball Show "Change Up"

Virk's new "Change Up" MLB show reportedly will debut on March 28, MLB's Opening DayGETTY IMAGES

Former ESPN anchor Adnan Virk has "accepted a job to be a baseball host" on DAZN, with execs from the OTT service eyeing Virk as "potentially the face of the platform as it grows," according to Andrew Marchand of the N.Y. POST. DAZN is run by Virk's former ESPN boss, John Skipper, while Josh Santry was "recently hired" to be its VP/Talent. Santry was "formerly an agent" at CAA, which reps Virk. Meanwhile, Virk, who was let go by ESPN in February for leaking information, has "agreed not to pursue any legal recourse against his former employer." Though he had two years left on his ESPN contract, Virk will "receive none of his remaining money" (N.Y. POST, 3/15). The Athletic's Richard Deitsch tweeted Virk "will debut" on DAZN's new MLB show "Change Up" on March 28. The program "will air seven-days-a-week as a live, whip-around show." Virk will be the "host of the weeknight edition," which will begin at 7:00pm ET and "conclude with the final pitch." Virk also will "make appearances on MLB Network" (TWITTER.com, 3/14). USA TODAY's Steve Gardner noted Virk was one of ESPN's primary hosts on "Baseball Tonight," which makes him a "good fit for a similar role" on DAZN's "Change Up." The streaming service "just signed a three-year deal with MLB, which will include a live show each weeknight" (USATODAY.com, 3/14).
