Media Notes

In Houston, David Barron notes Astros games "will continue to air next season" on iHeartMedia's KBME-AM, and a "majority of games next season also will air" on the company's KTRH-AM. Play-by-play man Robert Ford and analyst Steve Sparks both "will return for a seventh season." Astros games "have aired on iHeartMedia stations" since '99, but KBME "replaced KTRH as the primary flagship station" in '13 at iHeart's request (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 11/14).

LEAVING TOWN? Brewers play-by-play TV announcer Brian Anderson is reportedly being considered to replace Marv Albert as TNT's No. 1 NBA voice, and in Milwaukee, J.R. Radcliffe writes Brewers fans for years "have fretted over Anderson leaving Milwaukee for a prominent national role." However, his "local and national work haven't proven to be mutually exclusive," as he has "continued to work the bulk of the Brewers schedule despite his contributions to national baseball and basketball telecasts" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 11/14).

BAD BLOOD: Univision Deportes was "removed" from Dish Network’s lineup early Tuesday morning amid a long-running carriage dispute, meaning Dish and Sling viewers "can’t watch" U.S. and Mexico national team soccer matches on Univision Deportes this week. The blackout "comes just as Liga MX is about to move into the playoffs." Dish in June "lost Univision, Galavision and UniMas" (CABLEFAX DAILY, 11/14). Meanwhile, Univision reported a Q3 loss, with revenues "hurt by not having the World Cup" and by "being knocked off by Dish" (BROADCASTINGCABLE.com, 11/14).
