Browns Suspend Sideline Reporter For Eight Games After Yelling At Ref

Browns sideline reporter Nathan Zegura has been "banned from the team's radio broadcasts for eight games" for conduct during the team's 21-18 loss to the Saints on Sunday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER. Sources said that Zegura "yelled at an NFL official over a call." He will be "replaced on the sidelines" for tonight's Jets-Browns game by Cleveland-based WKRK-FM and Browns Radio Network's Dustin Fox. The Browns will "determine how to proceed after that," and if all goes as planned, Zegura will "be back on the job" Nov. 25 for Browns-Bengals. During his ban, Zegura will also "not participate in the pre-game or post-game shows." A source said that this is "not the first time" that the Browns have had to reprimand Zegura (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 9/20). ESPN.com's Pat McManamon noted Zegura has also been "suspended from co-hosting the team-produced Cleveland Browns Daily," a two-hour weekday show on ESPN Radio 850 Cleveland. Zegura apparently "did not agree with a pass interference call" against Browns CB T.J. Carrie in the end zone that "set up the Saints' first field goal" (ESPN.com, 9/19).
