IOC's Rebecca Lowell Edwards Leaving To Return To U.S.

IOC Dir of Strategic Communications & PR REBECCA LOWELL EDWARDS confirmed she will step down in November after about 17 months on the job. Edwards is the first person to hold that title, which was posted for more than a year before she was hired. The IOC did not say if it intends to recruit a replacement. Before she joined, IOC media relations were handled by MARK ADAMS, IOC President THOMAS BACH's personal spokesperson, and a group of lower level staffers. Adams continues on in his role. Edwards, believed to be the highest-ranking American paid employee in IOC history, said she is relocating her family back to the U.S. as her mother battles cancer.
