NFL Marketing Notes: Jets Looking For Deal With Gambling Venue

In N.Y., Josh Kosman cited a source as saying that the Jets are "huddling with some ... gambling venues about becoming an official sponsor of the team." Sources said that any such deal could be worth $750,000-1M for the year. The NFL last month began "allowing casino advertising at its stadiums," and the Cowboys last week "announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with WinStar World Casino" (N.Y. POST, 9/9).

THIRD-DOWN BACK: Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch last week in Las Vegas opened his "third Beast Mode retail store." He said that his apparel line was "inspired by clothing items he wanted when he was younger but couldn't afford." Sweats, shirts and a "training mask that mimics being in high altitude" all can be found, with "Beast Mode branding." He said that Las Vegas was a "natural fit for his third brick-and-mortar storefront because of the Raiders relocating" there in '20. The other stores are in Seattle and Oakland (LAS VEGAS SUN, 9/8).

HIT THE "LIKE" BUTTON: Vikings QB Kirk Cousins has trademarked the term "You Vike That!" in an attempt to "keep his iconic, yet cheesy, catchphrase alive with his new team." Cousins gained notoriety in '15 when, with the Redskins, he "shouted 'You Like That!' into a camera on his way to the locker room." Should the trademark for the new phrase be approved, fans could be "seeing shirts, bumper stickers, coozies and more with the phrase scattered across U.S. Bank Stadium" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 9/8).
