Four more NBA franchises are joining the NBA 2K esports league in '19, including the first teams in three of the top 15 markets in the U.S. The Lakers, T'Wolves, Hawks and Nets will field 2K teams for the first time, now making it 21 of the 30 NBA franchises participating. Terms of their entry are not known, but inaugural member teams in '17 paid $750,000 and committed to three years. “From their innovative spirit to their global reach, we know each of these teams will be a tremendous addition, and we are thrilled that this growth offers the opportunity for new players, coaches and support staff to join the league,” said NBA 2K League Managing Dir Brendan Donohue. The four expansion teams’ virtual gaming nicknames are not yet known. With an L.A. club now on board -- the Clippers are not yet part of the league -- Houston is the largest NBA market without a 2K team. Read today's "A Day In the Life" feature in SBD with NBA 2K Managing Dir Brendan Donohue.
