Bills Owners Funding $18M Practice Facility Renovations

Bills Owners Terry and Kim Pegula are funding an $18M renovation of the weight room inside the team's ADPRO Sports Training Center, which Bills officials say will "give the team the best such facility in the NFL," according to a front-page piece by Jay Skurski of the BUFFALO NEWS. Construction on the project is still "in the early stages and has a scheduled end date" of April '19 -- in time for the team's offseason conditioning program. An internal committee was "formed this spring with members of several departments, all of whom shared ideas on what the new facility should include." The committee "studied a number of weight rooms for NFL teams and other professional sports organizations" in the U.S. and overseas. Bills Head Strength & Conditioning coach Eric Ciano "played a key role in developing the final plan," which will result in a 25,000-square-foot space. The facility will have "sleep pods available," as well as float tanks for relieving stress and "soaring, two-story windows" that will let natural light in. Populous "drew up the blueprints for the new facility," and construction will be managed by Buffalo-based Arc Building Partners (BUFFALO NEWS, 8/3).
