Wasserman Continues Female Olympian Push With Simone Manuel

Wasserman this week signed Gold Medal-winning U.S. swimmer Simone Manuel, who just turned pro, marking the latest in a series of signings that have cemented the agency’s position as a leader for representing female Olympians. Since April, Wasserman has signed Manuel, Katie Ledecky and the twin stars of the U.S. women’s hockey team -- Monique Lamoureux-Morando and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson. Combined, the foursome has won nine Olympic Gold Medals to date and are expected to compete well into the next decade. Wasserman’s Olympics and women group already repped hockey player Hilary Knight, soccer player Alex Morgan and fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad. The Wasserman division, led by agents Lindsay Kagawa Colas and Dan Levy, sees immense business opportunity in representing female athletes who drive social, cultural and political causes off the field. The Lamoureux twins recently did a deal to become the face of Comcast’s corporate charitable and diversity programs, and Manuel’s first deal, with Tyr Sports, came with an “inclusion rider” that requires part of their activation with her to focus on underrepresented communities in swimming. “More than ever, athlete and sports are driving culture and it’s exciting to be working at the center of that with our clients,” Kagawa Colas said. “Monique, Jocelyne, Simone and Katie are all exactly the kind of talented athletes and smart leaders we love to serve and connect with each other.”
