Franchise Notes

Mavericks CEO Cynthia Marshall said that the team's internal investigation into improper behavior in the front office is "slightly ahead of schedule and could be wrapped up as soon as the end of May." In Dallas, Eddie Sefko notes the Mavericks "hired a pair of independent investigators to look into allegations first uncovered" by an SI story in February of sexual harassment and other inappropriate actions. Marshall said, "We're preparing for that to get our messaging (to employees) ready. Most of the interviews are done" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 5/10).

LET'S GET ACTIVE: In Las Vegas, Richard Velotta notes even though the Raiders are not scheduled to play in Las Vegas until '20, the team is "already participating in community events in Southern Nevada while maintaining community relationships in Oakland." Raiders President Marc Badain said, “Most of our efforts are directed on youth and children. We’ve gotten a lot of requests, and we’re trying to hit as many as we can all across the valley. You just want to make sure that they match some of the programs that we as an organization are doing, or that the NFL is supporting" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 5/10).

BE THE CHANGE: The WNBA Mercury will have a "Be Heard For Change" night on July 21 for their game against the Lynx. ESPN's Jemele Hill will be part of a panel discussion about social activism hosted by the Mercury (Mike Sunnucks, Staff Writer).
