Major League Rugby Gets Local TV Deals For Six Charter Clubs

Major League Rugby has secured a local distribution deal with AT&T Sports Networks for six of its seven charter clubs weeks before its April 21 launch. The 17-game package covers teams in Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Seattle, Glendale, Col., and Salt Lake City. They include all games except for the MLR Game of the Week and the playoffs, which were sold separately to CBS Sports Network. AT&T SportsNet-Southwest will cover Austin, Houston and New Orleans; Root Sports will carry Seattle, and AT&T SportsNet-Rocky Mountain will cover the Utah and Colorado teams. The games will air on Saturday afternoons and Sunday nights.
