Several NFL Execs See New Roles, Responsibilities With Latest Shuffle

The NFL’s league-level executive reorganization is continuing, with several execs taking on new and/or additional responsibilities. Senior VP/Sponsorship & Partnership Management RENIE ANDERSON will become Senior VP/NFL Partners, Sponsorship & Consumer Products, while Chief Strategy Officer CHRIS HALPIN, who previously helmed consumer products, will move out of licensing completely. An internal NFL memo from Commissioner ROGER GOODELL said that Halpin will focus on “league-wide strategy, long-term planning and data and analytics.” Anderson and Halpin are both past SBJ/SBD "Forty Under 40" honorees. Anderson will continue to report to NFL Chief Media & Business Officer BRIAN ROLAPP. Senior VP/Consumer Products MICHELLE MICONE, who joined the league in October, will now report to Anderson. Micone had reported to Halpin. Halpin will report to Exec VP & CFO JOE SICLARE.

DOWN TO BUSINESS: With the league placing more of an emphasis on team growth, NFL Senior VP/Club Business Development BRIAN LAFEMINA will report directly to new COO MARYANN TURCKE. NFL Media & Business COO HANS SCHROEDER, a two-time "Forty Under 40" honoree, will expand his role to include the league broadcasting department, while Senior VP/Broadcasting & Media Operations HOWARD KATZ will continue to oversee the creation of the schedule. Both Schroeder and Katz will report to Rolapp. Goodell expects to have a new CMO before the start of the '18 season, and he hopes to name a new communications exec in the coming weeks to replace the departed JOE LOCKHART. The exec team now reporting to Goodell consists of Turcke, Rolapp, Siclare, Exec VP/Health & Safety JEFF MILLER, Exec VP & General Counsel JEFF PASH and Exec VP/Football Operations TROY VINCENT. Additionally, Exec VP/Business Ventures ERIC GRUBMAN will work on strategic NFL initiatives, reporting to Goodell.
