Nike Remains Top Jersey/Shoe Provider For Women's NCAA Tourney Teams

Nike again is by far the top shoe and jersey provider for the 64 teams in the Women's NCAA Tournament. Nike and its affiliated brands outfit 40 teams in some capacity (37 teams wear both Nike shoes and jerseys; Grambling State and Maine wear just Nike shoes; Michigan wears Jordan brand). That is up from 39 teams last season and 37 in '16, but still down from the 49 teams it sponsored in '15. Adidas and Under Armour each sponsor 12 teams this year. That number represents a decrease for Adidas from 15 a year ago and 18 teams in '16. Under Armour continues its steady climb in sponsorships, as it is up from 10 teams in the field last year and nine in '16. Russell Athletics supplies jerseys for just one school this year (Grambling State), down from two last season, while New Balance breaks into the rankings with one (Maine).
