WNBA Aces Host Seat Selection Event For Season-Ticket Holders

Mandalay Bay Events Center has a 12,000 capacity and the Aces will get creative with seating arrangementsINSTAGRAM

The WNBA Aces on Tuesday "held a season-ticket-holder function at the Mandalay Bay Events Center for fans to pick out their seats for the franchise's inaugural season in Las Vegas," according to Mike Grimala of the LAS VEGAS SUN. Several hundred people who put down deposits were "welcomed to check out sightlines before choosing their future seats." The events center is "still undergoing renovations for the upcoming season and the actual court has not been installed yet, but a light projection showed how the hardwood will be arranged inside the arena when the season tips off in May." The Events Center has a "capacity of 12,000, and the Aces will get creative with their seating arrangements." Opposite the team benches will be "one row of courtside seats, and directly behind that will be an area of table seating, where food and drinks will be served" (LAS VEGAS SUN, 2/7). In Las Vegas, Alan Snel noted fans who paid the $100 deposit for season tickets "talked with team representatives about their seats" and "posed for photos with players." MGM Resorts Corporate VP/Marketing, Entertainment & Sports Lance Evans, whose company owns the Aces, said that they are "aiming to sell 6,000 season tickets, and have another 4,000 on hand to sell for individual tickets, groups and tourists." Evans added that MGM is investing $8-10M for a "big-time face lift and rehab" of the venue (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 2/6).
