Three more sponsors have confirmed they have cut ties with USA Gymnastics, leaving the NGB's non-endemic sponsorship portfolio empty in the wake of the Larry Nassar sexual abuse trial. Chobani, KT Tape and nutritional supplement maker Thorne Research each said they no longer have a relationship with USAG. Thorne VP/Business Development for Athletics Wes Barnett said the company first pulled back financial support in early '17, but more recently cut ties after monitoring the situation. “With the events that have unfolded over the last 10 or so months, we let Gymnastics know that we do not see a way forward and have taken steps to officially dissolve the relationship,” Barnett said. “We did however, for a period of time, continue making product available for the athletes in support of their performance needs.” KT Tape CEO Greg Venner confirmed the company has terminated its partnership with USA Gymnastics and said, "We are actively exploring other options to support gymnasts as they strive to reach their performance goals and Olympic dreams.” Chobani did not make anyone available to speak on the record, but a source confirmed it also left. At least one endemic supplier, Deary’s Gymnastics Supply, is sticking with USAG. “DGS and I are still in support of USA Gymnastics and the new safe sport initiatives instituted by both USOC and USA Gymnastics,” said company President John Deary. “DGS will continue to sponsor the US National team and work in partnership to keep kids safe.” Sports medicine and health care partner St. Vincent Sports Performance is evaluating the relationship, a spokesowoman said. USAG did not reply to requests for comment. Other sponsors to leave USAG in the past year include AT&T, Under Armour, Hershey’s, Procter & Gamble, Kellogg’s and the Int'l Gymnastics Camp. The status of three other companies listed on the USAG sponsor page in early January are not yet known: apparel supplier GK Elite; AAI Gymnastics Equipment, a division of Fruit of the Loom; and A-1 Awards. USAG has since taken its sponsor page offline.
