MetLife Stadium Hosting Army-Navy Game In '21, Marking 20th Anniversary Of 9/11

The annual Army-Navy football game is "set for Philadelphia" at Lincoln Financial Field from '17-20 and '22, with MetLife Stadium hosting the '21 contest, marking the "20-year anniversary of 9/11," according to college football reporter Brett McMurphy (TWITTER.com, 8/21). CBSSPORTS.com's Ben Kercheval noted MetLife Stadium is "located across the Hudson River from the World Trade Center site" and is "about an 11-mile drive on the Lincoln Tunnel." The game is "scheduled for Dec. 11, 2021, missing the precise 20-year anniversary by three months." Though the game site has "rotated over the years," Philadelphia has been the "prominent location" (CBSSPORTS.com, 8/21). In Annapolis, Bill Wagner notes CBS and the two service academies "announced a 10-year agreement that extends the network’s media rights to the classic rivalry" in May. CBS will "remain the television home of the Army-Navy game" through '28. CBS has "aired every Army-Navy game" since '96 (Annapolis CAPITAL GAZETTE, 8/22).
