Monumental Sports & Entertainment Suing Former Gaming Partner Emil Interactive

Monumental Sports & Entertainment "is suing" Nevada-based Emil Interactive Games for nearly $3M over a five-year, $14.3M contract MS&E signed in September '15, according to Andrea Cwieka of the WASHINGTON BUSINESS JOURNAL. Emil "ran online gaming website attackpoker.com and fantasy spots site Draft Ops." The original contract "included promotion for Emil at NHL, NBA and WNBA games in the Verizon Center, as well as a new 3,500-square-foot 'Draft Ops Fantasy Lounge,'" also in the Verizon Center. MS&E said Emil owed it the $14.3M in 20 installments "across five years for these Verizon Center promotions." But the complaint "claims that Emil was a shell company only using Monumental as a way to get free promotion and keep itself from folding" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 6/28).
